BRAINSPOTTING with First Responders and Military
Midwest Brainspotting Institute presents a webinar…
BRAINSPOTTING with First Responders and Military
With Stephanie Neuman, LCSW
This training will give therapists an inside look at the trauma experienced by Law Enforcement and other First Responders. Stephanie brings real life experience to the table for discussion, understanding and healing. Before becoming a therapist, Stephanie was an officer for over 10 years. During that time in law enforcement, she experienced many critical and volatile events giving Stephanie firsthand exposure to the traumas of law enforcement. At only eight weeks on the job as a patrol officer she was involved in an officer involved shooting. This critical event ultimately led her to a culturally competent therapist that helped navigate Stephanie’s traumas. This ultimately led Stephanie to pursue a Master’s in Social work and focus on healing trauma with other first responders. Stephanie is now an LCSW and has been a trauma therapist for the past ten years. Her primary clientele are people with severe trauma. She sees numerous first responders and military personnel. Stephanie has taken the basics of her training as a cop and integrated it with Brainspotting techniques to create a powerful model of healing her clients efficiently and effectively.
Objectives:
- A glimpse of being culturally competent in healing first responders
- Gain an understanding of what First Responders go through every day
